Overview & Specifications
What Are Halloween Treat Boxes?
Halloween treat boxes are small folding boxes, sized for a handful of candy or a few baked treats, printed with Halloween artwork. Bakeries sell treats in them, and schools, events and companies hand them out instead of loose candy.
Halloween Treat Boxes sit in Holiday & Seasonal Packaging and are built on Custom Straight Tuck End Boxes, Pillow Boxes or Small Gable Boxes.
What it has to do
What a Halloween Treat Needs from the Box
A Halloween treat box is small, handed out or sold in volume over a few days, and holds food that may be wrapped or not. Each need below is matched to how it is met.
01
Contact
A Contact Surface for the Treat
Wrapped candy touches its own wrapper, while unwrapped cookies, brownies and caramel corn touch the board directly and carry butter, oil or sugar. The board, coatings, inks, adhesives and any liner, insert or window film are checked for the treat, how long it stays in the box and the storage temperature, per order.02
Easy
Easy to Hand Out
Treats are handed out by the hundred. A gable box carries by its handle, and a pillow box closes by pressing its curved ends, so neither needs tape.03
Seen
Seen Before It Is Opened
A die-cut window shows the candy or cookie inside, where the selected structure supports one.04
Dark
Dark Print That Stays Sharp
Orange and black solids show scuffs and marking. No finish prevents this by default, so marking resistance is checked on the printed sample with the chosen lamination.
Halloween Treat Box vs Treat Bag
Choose a treat box for shape, a handle and shelf display; choose a treat bag for loose candy and simple handouts. The table compares them.
| Attribute | Halloween Treat Box | Halloween Treat Bag |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | Holds a set shape and stacks | Flexible, follows the contents |
| Carry | Gable handle, or held in the hand | Folded top or handle, by bag style |
| Display | Stands on a shelf or counter, can show a window | Usually laid flat or in a basket |
| Best for | Bakery treats, gifts, retail packs | Loose wrapped candy, trick-or-treat handouts |

What Size Halloween Treat Box Do I Need?
Size the box to the treat: the number of wrapped candies, or the size of the cookie or brownie. Final dimensions are set on the approved dieline.
| Measurement | What to Record |
|---|---|
| Treat | Count of wrapped candies, or size of each baked treat |
| Wrapped or not | Wrapped, bagged or loose |
| Structure | Tuck, pillow or small gable |
| Window | Size and position, if used |
Fill a Sample With Real Treats
Fill a sample with the actual candy or baked goods. Check that it closes without crushing and that a gable box carries without opening.
What to Check Before Bulk Production
Review a sample filled with the real treats and printed with the final artwork. Record the approved structure and finish on the signed-off sample. Where a sample shows a problem, review the cause, revise the specification and confirm it on another packed sample.
| If the sample shows | Cause to review |
|---|---|
| Butter or oil marks the board | Board, coating and inner bag against the treat, contact time and temperature |
| Pillow ends spring open | Board and fill level |
| Gable handle bends when carried | Board caliper against packed weight |
| Black solids scuff | Lamination and coating, checked on a new printed sample |
Seven days covers standard production from approved proof once the specification is confirmed; delivery timing is confirmed separately, so count back from October 31 or your event date.
