Overview & Specifications
What Are Custom Candy Boxes?
Custom candy boxes are everyday retail cartons for candy and sweets: one printed box holding a set count or weight of wrapped or loose candy, ready for the shelf or the checkout counter.
Custom Candy Boxes sit in the Tuck Boxes range and under Candy and Sweets Packaging.
What it has to do
What Candy Needs from Its Box
Candy needs a box sized to its count or weight, a decision on wrapped versus loose, panels for the label copy, a way to show the candy and surfaces suited to food contact. Each need below is matched to the option that meets it.
01
A
A Box Sized to the Count or Weight
The box is sized to the candy as packed, whether a set count of pieces or a net weight, so it is neither half-empty nor overfilled.02
Wrapped
Wrapped or Loose
Individually wrapped candy only touches its wrapper. Loose candy and gummies touch the board, so contact surfaces are specified for them.03
Panels
Panels for Label Copy
Net weight, ingredients and allergen statements need panel space. The brand supplies and approves the copy.04
A
A View of the Candy
A die-cut window with a clear PET patch shows color and shape. See Window Packaging Boxes.05
Surfaces
Surfaces Suited to Food Contact
Food-contact board is available on request when candy goes in loose. Confirm all food-contact surfaces, including coatings, inserts and any film, for the food type, contact time and temperature.
Candy Boxes vs Candy Bags
Choose a candy box for a printed shelf carton and a candy bag for a flexible, resealable pouch. The table compares the two.
| Attribute | Candy Box | Custom Candy Bags |
|---|---|---|
| Format | Rigid-sided paperboard carton | Flexible pouch |
| Shelf presence | Stands with a wide front panel | Stands or hangs |
| Window | Die-cut with PET patch | Clear window film |
| Typical use | Boxed retail candy | Bulk and resealable candy |

What Size Candy Box Do I Need?
Fill a mock-up with the candy at its target count or net weight and measure the settled fill, then add headroom so the top closes flat. Final allowances are set on the approved dieline.
| Measurement | What to Record |
|---|---|
| Contents | Count or net weight per box |
| Fill | Settled fill height and footprint |
| Wrapped or loose | Sets the contact surfaces |
| Copy | Panels for weight, ingredients and allergens |
Fill and Close a Sample
Fill a sample to the target weight, close it and shake gently. Check that the top closes flat and the window sits over the candy.
What to Check Before Bulk Production
Review a sample filled with the candy and printed with the final artwork. Record the approved fill, size and contact surfaces on the signed-off sample.
| If the sample shows | Review before approval |
|---|---|
| Top bulges when filled | Increase height or reduce fill |
| Box looks half-empty | Reduce size to the settled fill |
| Loose candy touches print | Confirm interior surfaces for contact |
Seven days covers standard production from approved proof once the specification is confirmed; delivery timing is confirmed separately.
