Overview & Specifications
What Are Custom Chocolate Boxes?
Custom chocolate boxes are cartons for chocolate in three common formats: assortment boxes with cavity inserts, slim bar boxes, and gift boxes. Chocolate scuffs and softens with heat, so each piece has its own place.
Custom Chocolate Boxes sit in the Tuck Boxes range and under Candy and Sweets Packaging.
What it has to do
What Chocolate Needs from Its Box
Chocolate needs a place for each piece, a format that matches truffles or bars, gift presentation, care in warm conditions and surfaces suited to food contact. Each need below is matched to the option that meets it.
01
A
A Place for Each Piece
Truffles and bonbons mark each other when they touch. A cavity insert gives each piece its own place.02
A
A Format for Truffles or Bars
Assortments sit in cavity boxes; bars sit in slim cartons sized to the bar and its wrap.03
Gift
Gift Presentation
Chocolate gift boxes are printed inside and out, with a cavity layout seen on opening.04
Care
Care in Warm Conditions
Chocolate softens and can bloom in heat. The box presents the chocolate; storage and shipping temperatures stay with the brand's handling plan.05
Food-Contact
Food-Contact Surfaces for Unwrapped Chocolate
Unwrapped truffles sit directly in the insert. Food-contact board is available on request. Confirm all food-contact surfaces, including coatings, inserts and any film, for the food type, contact time and temperature.

What Size Chocolate Box Do I Need?
For assortments, size each cavity to its piece and the box to the insert. For bars, size the carton to the wrapped bar. Final allowances are set on the approved dieline.
| Measurement | What to Record |
|---|---|
| Pieces | Diameter and height of each truffle or bonbon |
| Count | Pieces per box and layout |
| Bar | Length, width and thickness with wrap |
| Gift | Interior print and message area |
Pack Pieces in the Insert
Pack truffles in the cavities, or a wrapped bar in its carton, and close the box. Check that pieces stay apart and the bar slides in without catching.
What to Check Before Bulk Production
Review a sample packed with your chocolates and printed with the final artwork. Record the approved insert or bar size on the signed-off sample.
| If the sample shows | Review before approval |
|---|---|
| Truffles touch each other | Tighten or space cavities |
| Bar catches at the tuck | Adjust the bar carton size |
| Unwrapped pieces touch print | Confirm insert surfaces for contact |
Seven days covers standard production from approved proof once the specification is confirmed; delivery timing is confirmed separately.
