Overview & Specifications
What Are Custom Bracelet Boxes?
Custom bracelet boxes are rigid cases with a hinged lid and an insert sized to the bracelet, so the piece sits centered and laid out when the box opens. The box is a Hinged Rigid Box shaped to the bracelet: long and narrow for chains, square and deeper for bangles.
Bracelet boxes belong to the Rigid Boxes range and Packaging Dock's Jewelry Packaging.
What it has to do
What a Bracelet Box Has to Do
A bracelet box has to support the bracelet's shape, face the focal area forward, give a chain its full length, hold a bangle without crushing it and carry a logo on a small lid. Each need below is matched to how the box meets it.
01
Support
Support the Bracelet's Shape
Chain and tennis bracelets lie straight along a long pad; bangles and cuffs keep their closed loop around a pillow or sit on a platform. The insert follows the shape the bracelet should be seen in.02
Face
Face the Focal Area Forward
Decide what should face the viewer: a charm, stones, a centerpiece, a watch face or the clasp. The insert positions that area toward the person opening the box.03
Give
Give a Chain Its Full Length
A laid-out chain needs interior length beyond the bracelet's closed size, so long boxes are sized to the opened chain plus clearance at each end.04
Hold
Hold a Bangle Without Strain
A rigid bangle cannot flex, so the box footprint is set from its outer diameter and width, with a pillow or cavity that holds it without pressing on the band.05
Brand
Brand a Small Lid
Foil, emboss, deboss or Spot UV on the lid and print on the inner lid carry the brand without enlarging the case.
Bracelet Box vs Bangle Box
Chain-bracelet boxes are commonly long and shallow, with a pad that lays the chain out straight. Bangle boxes generally need a footprint based on the bangle's outer diameter and more depth for the pillow or cavity that holds the rigid band in its loop. Choose by whether the piece can be laid flat or must keep its shape.
| Attribute | Bracelet Box (Chain) | Bangle Box |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | Long and narrow | Square |
| Insert | Long pad or slot | Pillow, platform or cavity |
| Size set by | Laid-out chain length | Outer diameter and band width |
| Best for | Chain, tennis, charm and beaded bracelets | Bangles, cuffs, rigid bands |
| Watch sets | Pad holds a closed strap | Pillow holds a closed strap |
Which Bracelet Insert Fits Your Piece?
Choose the insert by how the bracelet should be seen. Inserts can be cut in paperboard, foam/EVA, fabric-lined foam or molded pulp, and satin lining can be added.
| Insert | How It Holds the Bracelet | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Long pad | Chain laid straight on a padded strip | Chain, tennis and charm bracelets |
| Pillow | Band wrapped around a cushion in a closed loop | Bangles, cuffs, watches |
| Platform | Piece rests on a raised base | Cuffs and wide bands |
| Slot or cavity | Piece set into a cut shape | Rigid or sculptural designs |

What Size Bracelet Box Do I Need?
Size a chain bracelet box from the laid-out length, and a bangle box from the outer diameter. Common long bracelet boxes on the market run about 8 × 2 × 1 in (about 203 × 51 × 25 mm), with some styles 8.5 to 9 in long for longer chains.
| Bracelet Box Type | Market Reference Size (L × W × H) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Long bracelet box | About 8 × 2 × 1 in | Chain and tennis bracelets laid out |
| Long bracelet box, extended | About 8.5–9 × 2 in | Longer chains or wider pads |
| Slim long box | About 8 × 2 × 0.9 in | Fine chains, low profile |
| Bangle box | Square, set from the bangle's outer diameter plus clearance | Depth from band width and pillow |
Important: These are market reference sizes, not fixed Packaging Dock sizes. Measure the laid-out chain or the bangle's outer diameter and width, and the insert and box are sized from them and confirmed on a sample. Full allowances are on the Hinged Rigid Box page.
