Overview & Specifications

What Are Custom Necklace Gift Boxes?

Custom necklace gift boxes are rigid cases with a hinged lid and an insert built to hold a necklace in a set position: the chain fixed at set points to help reduce movement and tangling, the pendant at the front and the clasp out of sight. The box is a Hinged Rigid Box shaped to the necklace's length and pendant.

Necklace boxes are one of the Rigid Boxes formats within Packaging Dock's Jewelry Packaging.

What it has to do

What a Necklace Box Has to Do

A necklace box has to help keep the chain from tangling, present the pendant at the front, keep the clasp out of view, fit the necklace's length and support gift presentation. Each need below is matched to how the box meets it.

  • 01

    Help

Help Keep the Chain From Tangling

A loose chain can slide and knot when the box is handled. A pad, hook or slot holds the chain at set points, which helps reduce movement and tangling.
  • 02

    Present

Present the Pendant at the Front

The pendant sits at the center of the insert, facing the person opening the box.
  • 03

    Keep

Keep the Clasp Out of View

The chain is routed behind or under the insert, or through a slot, so the clasp is hidden and the visible chain runs cleanly to the pendant.
  • 04

    Fit

    Fit the Necklace's Length

Short chains and single pendants fit a small square box; statement pieces and long chains need a larger square or long box. The length and drape decide the box shape before anything else.
  • 05

    Support

    Support Gift Presentation

A logo on the lid, print on the inner lid and a card slot support gift presentation; outer wrapping stays the brand's choice.
Customization

Customize Your Necklace Gift Boxes

Necklace gift boxes are customized around four choices: the box shape (square or long), the insert that holds the chain, the closure and the branding. Start with the chain length, pendant and how much chain should show, because those set the box shape and insert before lining and finishes are chosen.

01

Box Shape and Dimensions

Choose a square pendant box, a long necklace box or a larger square box, with custom length, width and height set by the piece.

02

Insert and Lining

Choose a pad, hooks, slot, cavity or platform in paperboard, foam/EVA, fabric-lined foam or molded pulp, and add satin lining from Satin Lined Boxes where wanted.

03

Closure

A friction fit avoids separate magnetic hardware; magnetic and ribbon-based options can be considered where suitable, and a ribbon stay can help control the opening range where that construction is used.

04

Print and Finishing

Print the lid, sides and inner lid in CMYK with Pantone matching, then add lamination, foil, emboss or Spot UV to the logo.

Ordering

How to Order Custom Necklace Gift Boxes

Ordering custom necklace gift boxes takes five steps: share the necklace and requirements, confirm the insert and dieline, approve the artwork proof, move into production, and ship. Orders start at 500 units, with standard production in 7 days from approved proof after the final specification is confirmed.

  1. 01

    Request a Quote

Share the chain length, pendant size, how the chain should sit, quantity, insert and finish preferences. Packaging Dock typically responds to quote requests within 24 hours. 2. Confirm the Insert and Dieline: Box shape, insert and lid are developed around the necklace. Packaging Dock then provides a custom dieline marking the insert, chain points and wrap. 3. Approve the Artwork and Proof: Artwork is prepared on the dieline with free design support available. The proof is reviewed for logo placement, the inner-lid message and finishes before approval. 4. Production: Production begins after the artwork proof and final specification are approved. Standard production is 7 days from approved proof, with rush production available on request. 5. Shipping: Finished necklace boxes ship across the USA and worldwide. Transit method, delivery time and shipping cost depend on the destination, order volume and shipment requirements.

Sample note: A pre-production sample can be arranged to confirm insert fit and chain position with the actual necklace before the full production run.

Uses

Who Uses Custom Necklace Gift Boxes?

Custom necklace gift boxes are used by jewelry brands, boutiques, online sellers and gift programs selling pendants, chains and statement necklaces. Chain length decides the box, so many brands run a square pendant box and a long or large box side by side.

FAQ

Custom Necklace Gift Box FAQs

What are custom necklace gift boxes?

They are hinged rigid cases with an insert that helps keep a necklace's chain positioned and its pendant centered when the box opens, branded with your logo and finishes.

How do you keep a necklace from tangling in the box?

A pad, hooks or a slot fix the chain at set points, which helps reduce movement and tangling when the box is handled.

What is the difference between a pendant box and a necklace box?

A pendant box is small and square, holding a short chain looped around a pad with the pendant at the front. A necklace box is longer or larger, laying out more of the chain or a statement piece.

What size is a standard necklace box?

Common pendant boxes on the market are about 2.5 to 3 in square; larger necklace boxes run about 7 to 9 in square, and long chain boxes about 8 × 2 in. Custom boxes are sized from the actual piece.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The minimum order is 500 units. Unit price depends on dimensions, insert, closure and finishing.

How much do custom necklace gift boxes cost?

Pricing starts from $1.25 per unit at qualifying quantities. Submit the quote form for exact pricing.

How long does production take?

Standard production is 7 days from approved proof. Rush production is available on request.

Can I fully customize dimensions and artwork?

Yes. Each necklace box is made to the piece's dimensions on its own dieline, with full-color print, foil, emboss and Spot UV available.

Can satin lining be added?

Yes. Satin can line the case interior, or cover the pad under the necklace, or a fabric-lined foam insert can be used instead. See Satin Lined Boxes.
