Overview & Specifications
What Are Custom Campaign Mailer Boxes?
Custom campaign mailer boxes are coordinated packages developed around a specific audience, message, delivery window and group of contents. They carry product launches, PR and influencer campaigns, advocacy programs, political initiatives and direct mail sends, with artwork made for that one campaign rather than evergreen branding.
They are part of the Mailer Boxes range and Packaging Dock's Campaign Packaging.
What it has to do
What a Campaign Needs from Its Box
A campaign mailer has to carry one message, arrange the kit in the order it should be read, meet a delivery window, allow versions for different audiences and leave compliance to the right owner. Each need below is matched to how the mailer meets it.
01
Carry
Carry One Campaign Message
Exterior and interior panels can carry campaign artwork, calls to action, event information, approved disclosures and supporting messages. The visual system is developed for the duration and objective of the campaign.02
Arrange
Arrange the Kit in Reading Order
Custom inserts and compartments can arrange products, literature, merchandise and promotional materials. A defined position for every component improves packing consistency and helps recipients understand the kit in the intended sequence.03
Meet
Meet the Delivery Window
The specification accounts for campaign quantities, packing operations, final delivery dates and distribution requirements. Production timing is confirmed once board, dimensions, printing, finishes and the artwork approval schedule are set.04
Allow
Allow Versions by Audience
Where production permits, campaign variants can be planned for different audiences, regions or messages.05
Leave
Leave Compliance to the Right Owner
Political, election and regulated campaigns carry postal rules, legal disclaimers and approval steps that the campaign owner manages; the box carries the approved copy.
The Mailer Construction Used Here
Campaign mailers are Roll End Tuck Top Boxes: the attached lid lifts to show the inside message before the kit. If a campaign needs a front-locking close, a lift-off lid or a locked three-flap opening, those are separate products: Roll End Tuck Front, Roll End Boxes with Lid and Roll End 3 Flap Lock.
Campaign vs Promotional Mailer Boxes
Campaign mailers are tied to one defined campaign, audience and time window, such as a launch, PR send or advocacy push. Promotional mailers cover broader, ongoing sampling, swag and event kits. Both use the same mailer build; the difference is the planning around the kit and artwork.
| Page | Main decision | Choose When |
|---|---|---|
| Custom Campaign Mailer Boxes | One campaign, audience and window | A launch, PR send or time-bound campaign |
| Custom Promotional Mailer Boxes | Ongoing sampling, swag and event kits | Repeat promotions over months |
| Custom Subscription Boxes | Recurring member deliveries | A paid subscription program |
| Custom Ecommerce Mailer Boxes | Everyday customer orders | Ongoing online sales |

What Size Campaign Mailer Do I Need?
Size the box from the campaign kit: products, literature and merchandise laid out in the order recipients should meet them. If versions carry different contents, size from the largest version and check the smallest on a sample.
| Measurement | Include |
|---|---|
| Product or inner pack | Full dimensions, closures and intended orientation |
| Interior arrangement | Inserts, partitions, cushioning and presentation layers |
| Complete shipment | Packed weight and units per box |
| Final box | Inside fit and closed outside dimensions |
Confirm the finished fit on the approved dieline and a loaded sample. Board allowances are covered in the Roll End Tuck Top sizing guide.
Pack the Largest and Smallest Version
Load both, close them and open them as a recipient would. Check that the message is seen first and nothing shifts in the smaller version.
What to Check Before Bulk Production
Trial each campaign version with its real contents and printed pieces. Record the approved versions, inserts and artwork on the signed-off sample.
| If the trial shows | Review before approval |
|---|---|
| The message is not seen first | Move it to the inside lid or top layer |
| A version leaves items loose | Add a spacer or version-specific insert |
| Packing slows the send | Simplify the insert or packing order |
| Two versions look alike at the packing bench | Add a version code to the box or packing list |
| The schedule stops at box production | Add box delivery, kit assembly and transit milestones |
Seven days covers standard production from approved proof once the specification is confirmed; plan the mailing or delivery window separately.
