Overview & Specifications
What Are Custom Soap Boxes?
Custom soap boxes are paperboard folding cartons made for bar soap: a glued side seam, tucks at both ends and printed panels on every side. They enclose the bar against shelf handling, give more printable area than a belly band and close again after the shopper checks the scent.
They are part of the Tuck Boxes range and Packaging Dock's Soap Packaging.
What it has to do
What a Soap Bar Needs from Its Box
A soap bar needs a carton cut to its real size, a barrier between oils and board where the formula calls for it, room for the label copy its claims require, a decision on scent and visibility, and a box that survives the shelf. Each need below is matched to the option that meets it.

Which Tuck Structure Fits a Soap Box
Straight Tuck End and Reverse Tuck are the two carton structures used for soap boxes. Choose by how the front panel should read and how the bar is packed.
| Structure | How It Closes | Choose When |
|---|---|---|
| Straight Tuck End | Both tucks on the same side | The front panel or window must read cleanly top to bottom |
| Reverse Tuck | Tucks on opposite sides | An everyday re-openable carton on a shelf or in a basket |
For artisan bars see Handmade Soap Boxes; for unbleached board see Kraft Soap Boxes; for several bars in one box see Soap Gift Boxes.

What Size Soap Box Do I Need?
Measure the cured bar at its widest, longest and thickest points, then add a small fit allowance. A common rectangular bar is about 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 x 1 in; many brands run several sizes. The Straight Tuck End sizing guide lists carton allowances.
| Measurement | What to Record |
|---|---|
| Bar | Length, width and thickness of the cured bar |
| Wrap | Added thickness of any inner wrap, liner or band |
| Shape | Bevels, rounded corners or stamped faces that affect clearance |
| Range | Every bar size the box must fit |
Check With a Cured Bar
Pack a fully cured bar with its wrap, close both tucks and shake gently. Check fit, print alignment and any window position.
What to Check Before Bulk Production
Review a packed sample with the final bar, wrap and artwork. Record the approved size, board and window on the signed-off sample.
| If the sample shows | Review before approval |
|---|---|
| Bar rattles or jams the tucks | Re-measure the cured bar and adjust the inside size |
| Oil marks on the board | Add an inner wrap or liner |
| Copy crowded on the panels | Move secondary copy to a side or back panel |
Seven days covers standard production from approved proof once the specification is confirmed; delivery timing is confirmed separately.
