Overview & Specifications
What Are Candy Gable Boxes?
Candy gable boxes are gable cartons made for candy: a handled box that closes into a peaked top and carries a candy assortment from the shop or to a gift recipient. The candy is wrapped, bagged or held in dividers, so the box is sized from the mix and how it is arranged.
Candy Gable Boxes sit in the Gable Boxes range and under Candy & Sweets Packaging, on Custom Auto Lock Gable Boxes, Custom Interlock Gable Box or Custom Seal End Gable Box bases. For small favors, the ready-sized variant is Small Gable Boxes.
What it has to do
What a Candy Assortment Needs from a Gable Box
A candy assortment mixes shapes, wrapped and loose pieces, and is often sold as a gift. Each need below is matched to how it is met.
01
Sized
Sized to the Mix
Box size follows the number, shape and arrangement of the candies, not their total weight alone. A mix of chocolates, gummies and hard candy needs more room than its weight suggests.02
Pieces
Pieces Kept Apart
Dividers, trays or inner bags keep candy types separate while the box is carried, so flavors and colors stay where they were packed.03
Surfaces
Surfaces for Wrapped or Loose Candy
Wrapped candy touches its wrapper, but the box components are still checked for the intended use. Loose candy goes in only when the board, coatings, inks, adhesives and any liner, insert or window film suit it, for the food type, contact time and temperature, including possible migration; otherwise it goes in an inner bag, which gets its own food-contact check, including possible migration.04
Mix
The Mix on Show
A die-cut window shows a colorful assortment where the structure supports one. A window reduces print area, so it is placed where the candy sits.

What Size Candy Gable Box Do I Need?
Size the box from the assortment: the candy types, how many of each, and how they are arranged. Final allowances for the handle and closure are set on the approved dieline.
| Measurement | What to Record |
|---|---|
| Assortment | Candy types and count of each |
| Packing | Wrapped, in inner bags, or loose |
| Layout | Compartments, trays or one open space |
| Weight | Packed weight of the full assortment |
Fill a Sample With the Real Mix
Fill a sample with the actual assortment, close the gable and carry it. Check that dividers hold each type in place and the window shows the mix.
What to Check Before Bulk Production
Review a sample packed with the real candy and printed with the final artwork. Record the approved base, interior and contact surfaces on the signed-off sample. Where a sample shows a problem, review the cause, revise the specification and confirm it on another packed sample.
| If the sample shows | Cause to review |
|---|---|
| Candy types mix in transit | Divider layout or inner bags |
| Chocolate marks the board | Board, coating and liner against the food, contact time and temperature |
| Window shows empty space | Window position against the layout |
| Handle bends when carried | Board caliper against packed weight |
Seven days covers standard production from approved proof once the specification is confirmed; delivery timing is confirmed separately.
