Overview & Specifications
What Are Candle Box Sleeves?
Candle box sleeves are full or partial sleeves over a candle box or container. The box, insert and shipping carton protect the glass; the sleeve adds the scent artwork and copy, so a brand can stock one plain box for every scent.
Candle Box Sleeves sit in the Custom Sleeves range and under Candle Packaging.
What it has to do
What Candle Brands Need from a Box Sleeve
A candle sleeve has to fit the finished box, change the scent without changing the box, carry warning copy and leave protection to the box and insert. Each need below is matched to the option that meets it.
01
Fit
A Fit to the Finished Box
The sleeve is sized to the outside of the candle box or container so it slides on and stays put.02
Box
One Box, Many Scents
A plain base box with a sleeve per scent cuts the number of printed boxes to one, where all scents share the same box size.03
Warning
Warning and Scent Copy
Burn warnings, scent notes and net weight can go on the sleeve where that placement fits the product's labeling.04
Protection
Protection From the Box
The sleeve adds surface coverage only. Glass protection comes from the box, insert and shipping system.
Candle Box Sleeve vs Printed Candle Box
Choose a sleeve to run many scents on one plain box and a fully printed box when each scent gets its own box. The table compares the two.
| Attribute | Candle Box Sleeve | Printed Candle Box (Custom Candle Boxes) |
|---|---|---|
| Printed parts | Sleeve per scent, plain box | Box per scent |
| Scent change | Swap the sleeve | New box run |
| Protection | From the box under it | Box and insert |
| Best for | Large scent ranges | Fewer scents, one-piece look |

How Do You Size a Candle Box Sleeve?
Measure the outside of the finished candle box or container: width, depth and height. The dieline adds a sliding allowance before approval.
| Measurement | What to Record |
|---|---|
| Box | Outside width, depth and height |
| Scents | Number of sleeve designs |
| Copy | Scent, warning and weight |
| Window | Area to show, if used |
Slide a Sample Over the Candle Box
Slide a printed sample over the packed candle box. Check the fit, the window and that the warning copy stays readable.
What to Check Before Bulk Production
Review a sample on the packed candle box, printed with the final artwork. Record the approved size and copy placement on the signed-off sample.
| If the sample shows | Review before approval |
|---|---|
| Sleeve slides off | Review size and board on a new sample |
| Warning copy hidden | Move it to a visible panel |
| Scents mix up at packing | Add a scent code on the sleeve end |
| Window shows solid board, not the jar | To show the vessel, align the sleeve window with an opening or window in the underlying package |
Seven days covers standard production from approved proof once the specification is confirmed; delivery timing is confirmed separately.
