Overview & Specifications
What Are Coffee Labels?
Coffee labels turn one plain bag into many products: the same stock bag carries a different label per roast or origin. They go on bags, pouches, tins and jars, and leave the valve uncovered.
Coffee Labels sit in the Labels & Stickers range and under Tea & Coffee Packaging.
What it has to do
What Coffee Labels Need to Get Right
Coffee labels need a fit to the bag face, the valve left clear, panels for roast details and an adhesive for the bag film. Each need below is matched to the option that meets it.
01
Fit
A Fit to the Bag Face
The label is sized to the flat face of the filled bag or the tin.02
Valve
The Valve Left Clear
A label over the degassing valve blocks it; placement keeps it clear.03
Roast
Roast Detail Panels
Origin, roast level, tasting notes and roast date, with a writable or variable area where needed.04
Adhesive
An Adhesive for the Bag
Kraft, foil and film bags each need a matched adhesive.
Coffee Labels vs Printed Coffee Bags
Choose labels to run many roasts on one stock bag and printed bags for a fixed, full-coverage design. The table compares the two.
| Attribute | Coffee Label | Printed Coffee Bag (Custom Coffee Bags) |
|---|---|---|
| Roast change | New label | New bag run |
| Coverage | Label area | Full bag |
| Small batches | Suits many roasts | Suits fixed SKUs |
| Valve | Label placed clear of it | Printed around it |

How Do You Size a Coffee Label?
Measure the flat face of a filled bag and locate the valve. Size and position are set on the approved proof.
| Measurement | What to Record |
|---|---|
| Package | Bag, pouch, tin or jar |
| Label area | Flat face when filled |
| Valve | Position to keep clear |
| Panels | Roast, origin, date |
Apply a Sample to a Filled Bag
Apply a sample to a filled, sealed bag and check that the valve is clear and the label lies flat.
What to Check Before Bulk Production
Review samples on filled bags. Record the approved size, position and adhesive on the signed-off proof. Bulk production starts after that sign-off.
| If the sample shows | Review before approval |
|---|---|
| Label covers the valve | Move or reshape the label |
| Label wrinkles on a full bag | Review size and placement |
| Edges lift on foil | Review adhesive for the bag |
| Date hard to write on | Add an uncoated writable area |
Seven days covers standard production from approved proof once the specification is confirmed; delivery timing is confirmed separately.
